On November 22nd, 2024, a high-level delegation comprising representatives from the Selangor State Government, Invest Selangor, and Axcova successfully concluded a strategic visit to Inspur Headquarters in Jinan and Chindata Group (Bridge Data Centres) in Beijing. The visit underscored Selangor’s commitment to advancing technological innovation and fostering collaborations in key sectors such as artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, industrial digitalization, and data center development.
The Selangor delegation was led by YB Dato’ Setia Haji Haris Bin Kasim (Selangor State Secretary), alongside Dato’ Hasan Azhari Bin Haji Idris (CEO of Invest Selangor), Lim Kok Kuan (Manager of Invest Selangor), Tan Sri Barry Goh (Chairman of Axcova), and Hong Zi Shen (Managing Director of Axcova).
Insights from Inspur Leadership
During the visit to Inspur, one of China’s leading technology enterprises and AI tech leaders, the delegation was welcomed by Xiao Xue (Chief Engineer of Inspur Group and Chairman of Inspur Cloud), as well as Yu Qiyun (CFO of Inspur Cloud), Yin Ping (Director of Hairuo Technology of Inspur Cloud), Liu Hui (General Manager of Inspur Cloud), Zhao Jie (Deputy General Manager of Inspur Cloud), and others. Inspur showcased its cutting-edge advancements in cloud computing, AI, and industrial digitalization.
Xiao Xue, in his speech, highlighted Inspur’s global leadership in cloud computing, big data, and AI, and its ongoing commitment to advancing industrial Internet and digital transformation. He emphasized the synergies between China and Malaysia under the Belt and Road Initiative and shared Inspur’s readiness to collaborate with Malaysia to drive digital innovation and enhance bilateral cooperation.
Xiao Xue further noted that Inspur’s expertise in developing cutting-edge data center solutions, combined with Malaysia’s growing interest in high-tech industries, positions both parties for impactful collaboration. Inspur also expressed interest in sharing its technological and market expansion experiences to support Malaysia’s informatization and innovation goals.
Selangor’s Vision for Innovation
In his keynote speech, YB Dato’ Haris underlined Selangor’s strategic advantages as Malaysia’s economic powerhouse and gateway to the ASEAN region. He shared Selangor’s ambitions to be at the forefront of Industry 4.0 by fostering innovation and collaboration in AI, cybersecurity, and data center development.
“We are confident that Inspur’s expertise and cutting-edge technologies, combined with Selangor’s robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and government support, will create a powerful synergy for mutual success,” said YB Dato’ Haris. He assured Inspur of the Selangor State Government’s full support, facilitated through Invest Selangor, to streamline investments and foster seamless collaborations.
Engagement with Bridge Data Centres
The delegation further engaged with representatives from Bridge Data Centres during a dinner in Beijing, where discussions centered on opportunities to enhance collaboration in data center development and industrial investment. Both parties expressed optimism about the potential for future partnerships to bolster Malaysia-China technological ties and Selangor’s position as a leader in digital transformation.
